Launched in 2010, the Rolex Submariner reference 116610 replaced the prolonged reference 16610 featuring a number of upgrades. While retaining similar aesthetics to its previous model and the Submariner aesthetic in general, the most significant change was the introduction of the Cerachrom bezel insert that is extremely scratch resistant and highly robust. Another improvement was the introduction of the highly practical Glidelock clasp extension allowing the wearer to adjust the length in micro increments.

Lanzado en 2010, el Rolex Submariner, referencia 116610, sustituyó a la referencia 16610, con una versión extendida, e introdujo varias mejoras. Si bien conserva una estética similar a la de su modelo anterior y la estética del Submariner en general, el cambio más significativo fue la introducción del bisel Cerachrom, extremadamente resistente a los arañazos y muy robusto. Otra mejora fue la introducción de la práctica extensión del cierre Glidelock, que permite ajustar la longitud en microincrementos.
